To Do: October 2017

The first month of fall is here and Portland is definitlely celebrating! Here are all of the events I'm looking forward to this month.

The Wedge Cheese Festival

Saturday, October 7 at 100 SE Alder Street. How could you say no to a festival celebrating cheese?! Sample cheese, wine, beer and snacks from over 60 different vendors at this farmers market style event. $5 of the entry price ($15 in advance, $20 at the door) goes towards purchasing cheese at the event!

Hood River Hops Festival

Saturday, October 7 in downtown Hood River. I love Hood River and would honestly take any excuse to make a trip there. Right now is prime time for fresh hops, so head over to this festival for some unique fresh hops beers from over 50 different breweries!

Portland Fall Home Show

October 12-15 at the Portland Expo Center. In my career it is important to stay up to date on the latest home trends. Besides that, home decorating and decor is one of my passions! Visit countless exhibitors and attend live demonstrations at this huge event!

Apple Tasting Festival

October 13-15 & 20-22 at the Portland Nursery. The Portland Nursery is a great place to get plants and other outdoor supplies, but it also hosts the best apple festival in Portland! There are countless varieites of apples to try, great cider, and other delicious food. After sampling the apples you can buy your favorites, all for great prices, to take home!

Portland VegFest

October 14-15 at the Oregon Convention Center. Besides being a vegetarian I'm a very adventurous eater. I love sampling everything I possibly can, so a vegetarian food festival is literally my idea of a dream world! Portland VegFest celebrates plant-based living, with free food samples, health and nutrition speakers, chef demonstrations, Fitness Stage workouts, restaurants, films, and activities for kids and teens. There's something for everyone!

Wine Walk Lake Oswego

Saturday, October 21 in downtown Lake Oswego. The Lake Oswego Wine Walk allows visitors to explore different artists, craft stands and more while they sip wine from many delicious vineyards. There is also live music to enjoy while you stroll!

West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta

Saturday, October 21 at the Tualatin Lake of the Commons. I've never been to an event like this but you can bet I will be there this year!! The event is free to attend and includes a giant pumpkin weigh off, pie eating contest, kids' costume contest, pumpkin golf, pumpkin bowling, clown shows, hot food and much more. Of course the main event is costumed participants paddling 1,000 pound pumpkins around the lake!!
