To Do: July 2017

Portland comes alive during the summer, which is obvious from all of the amazing events we have going on!! Below is a sampling of what is happening this July.

Concerts in the Park

Various dates from July 5 to September 8 at a variety of parks throughout Portland. If you are looking to stay in your neighborhood this summer concert series has concerts on a variety of different dates, often with many concerts per week! Pack up the family and a picnic and get ready to enjoy the music!

Movies in the Park

Various dates from July 6 to September 8 at a variety of parks throughout Portland. Following the same idea as the Concert in the Park series, this Portland summer staple offers a great way to catch your favorite movies and still enjoy the summer sun! Make sure to bring a jacket- temps can cool down in the evening here in Portland!

Oregon Country Fair

July 7-9 in Veneta (close to Eugene). This is not your typical family friendly day-trip fair- this is more of a tamed down, extra hippie version of Burning Man, set in the forest (as per usual in Oregon!). Featuring lots of music, art and crafts, this event is the perfect excuse to escape realty and spend the weekend camping in Oregon.

Mississippi Street Fair

July 8 on Mississippi Street. Of all of the summer street fairs in Portland, this one is arguably the busiest, with the most to see. Mississippi gets shut down to cars from Fremont to Skidmore and is packed with pedestrians. The street has multiple stages with live music all day, as well as great food, drinks and tons of vendors.

Best of Portland Party

July 12 from 5-9pm on NW 22nd and Quimby. Part of Quimby gets shuts down for "the most epic block party Slabtown has ever seen!" Sample tons of great local food and drinks, find a new favorite spot for dinner, take in some impromptu yoga... the possibilities are endless! All proceeds benefit Schoolyard Farms, a local non-profit designed to encourage healthy food habits in children.

La Ruta PDX (Spanish Food Festival)

July 13-16 at various Portland locations. Sample fantastic Spanish cuisine and embrace the culture with delicious dinners prepared by local and Spanish chefs.

Bastille Day Festival

July 15 at Jamison Square Park. Who doesn't love French food, wine and culture? Experience the best of France at this all day festival that also includes the 11th Annual Waiters Race, live music and a costume contest.

The Big Float

July 15 on the Willamette River. Gather all of your best friends and float down the Willamette River to a giant beach party featuring food carts, live music and a beer garden.

Puckerfest Sour Beer Festival

July 19-25 at Belmont Station. I'm absolutely obsessed with sour beer. If you haven't tried it you are seriously missing out, and this is the perfect opportunity to sample over 50 sour beers and see what all the hype is about!

Tualatin Art Splash

July 21-23 at Tualatin Commons. Featuring free concerts, tons of art on display and for sale, great kids craft projects and more, the Tualatin Art Splash will be a great family fun weekend activity!

Washington County Fair

July 27-30 at the Hillsboro Fairgrounds. This is the classic summer fair you have been waiting for, and is definitely fun for the whole family, featuring carnival rides, classic fair food and lots of entertainment.
