To Do: September 2017

Enjoy September in Portland with food festivals, beer tasting and plenty of art!

The Bite of Oregon

September 1-4 at the Portland Rose Quarter. I've been to this event the past three years and love it! This year, the Bite is taking place at the Rose Quarter rather than the waterfront, which is probably for the best. In years past it has been HOT! Not only does the Bite have great food and drinks, but cooking competitions, demonstrations and small bites from some of the best chefs in Portland. Enjoy!

Art in the Pearl

September 2-4 at the North Park Blocks in the Pearl. I love art festivals, especially ones that are casual and let you spend the afternoon aimlessly checking everything out. Art in the Pearl is a free event where spectators can browse all of the different stands and enjoy all the art available. Even better, there are tons of arts and crafts for sale at the event as well! Take a break for lunch or drinks somewhere delicious in the Pearl and then come back for more shopping!

Belmont Street Fair

September 9, Belmont Street. Street Fairs bring so much energy and fun to Portland, and the Belmont Street Fair is one of the last ones of the summer. Enjoy amazing food, drinks and music while people watching and checking out all of the great shops and restaurants on Belmont Street!

McMenamins Oktoberfest

September 16-October 17, various Oregon McMenamins locations. McMenamins is such a classic Portland staple that it only makes sense to go there to celebrate one of the biggest events of the year, Oktoberfest! Almost every location has something special going on, featuring beer, beer and more beer, as well as classic German food and music. Keep the event going on for the whole month and earn some new stamps on your passport!

Free Museum Day

September 23, various locations around Oregon. One of the worst things about museums are the often high costs of entry. Unfortunately, this prevents many people from checking out the great museums that are in their own town or city. Take advantage of a day of free entry to some of the best museums in Oregon and soak up some art!
