I’ve been toying with the idea of adding a banquette to our kitchen eating nook ever since we moved into the house in 2021. It really does feel like the perfect little space for it, but I’ve found myself stuck in a bit of decision paralysis. What shape of table would work best? Will people be annoyed about having to scoot into a bench? Should we incorporate storage, or keep it simple?

That said, the fact that I keep coming back to this idea feels like a sign. I can’t quite let it go, and lately it’s been inching closer and closer to the top of my project list. And honestly, after falling down a rabbit hole of the most gorgeous banquette setups from some of my favorite interior designers, I think my mind might finally be made up. There’s just something about how cozy, functional, and intentional they feel, and I’m officially inspired.
