Corgi Walk 2015
I cannot wait to have a dog. I would love to have a little friend that I can take everywhere with me, that I can snuggle with at home, and that gives me a great reason to get outside more and go on more walks (especially to our neighborhood dog park!). However, I definitely know that I am not at a point in my life where I'm ready to be a responsible enough dog-mom, so for now I have to hold off. What keeps me going, though, is dog-sitting! I have a few friends who let me watch their dogs (sometimes when they need a break, sometimes when I want some puppy loving), but my favorite is definitely Ollie, a corgi that belongs to my friends Dan & Ashley. Check out their blog Dash To Portland to find out more about their life with Ollie!
If you have ever been around a corgi, you would know that people are absolutely obsessed with them! No one just likes corgis, people LOVE them. Portland has multiple corgi meet-ups, and every year they host a Corgi Walk in the Pearl through Portland's Pearl District. Dan & Ashley invited me to go with them this year, and it was such a fun experience!
Imagine hundreds of corgis, running on their cute little legs, many dressed up in costumes, all on a group walk. They were all playing with each other and having a great time, and it gave their owners a chance to chat about their dogs and get to know new people. It was hard telling some of them apart, because they all looked so similar!
Even though I would love a dog of my own, for now I will have to get by with babysitting Ollie and attending great events like this!
