The event is free and totally family friendly, so bundle up and enjoy the gorgeous installations in Portland!
Portland Seafood & Wine Festival
February 2-3 at the Oregon & Convention Center. I'm a vegetarian and do not eat seafood, but anything with the words "wine festival" and I'm in! The event features entertainment, lots of fresh Oregon seafood and wine, craft beers, cider, and distilled spirits. The event is open to all ages and everyone is sure to get their fill on great food and drinks!
Chocolate & Wine Pairing
February 3-4 & February 9-11 at Hip Chicks do Wine. Hip Chicks do Wine hosts tons of great events throughout the year, but their chocolate & wine pairing cannot be missed, especially for a great Valentine's Date! They've paired up Alma's Chocolates for a fun Chocolate and Wine Pairing! We’ll pair 4 of their locally-made hand-crafted truffles and one caramel from Jonboy Caramels in Seattle with 5 of our wines.
Kiss & Tell Storytelling
February 10 at the Portland Story Theater. This show looks so amazing- a variety of storytellers sharing stories of all types of love. This event would be great for a Valentine's Date, but I think it would be just as fun with a group of friends. After all, you don't have to be in love to love love!
Portland Mardi Gras Parade
February 13 on Mississippi Avenue. Join hundreds of other Mardi Gras fans on a parade down awesome Mississippi Ave. The event is free and great for all ages- there is even a kids costume contest! There is also live music, giveaways and lots of food and drink specials at local restaurants. Don't forget your beads!
PDX Jazz Festival
February 15-25 at a variety of venues throughout the city. With upwards of 100 paid and ticketed events over 11 days, there are ambitious programs that will warm the heart and swing your soul. As always, they pay homage to living jazz legends and those who came before. Emerging and exploratory musicians and the legacy artists we admire will be on full display in the beautiful city of Portland!
Chinese New Year
February 16- March 4 at Lan Su Chinese Garden. Learn more about Chinese New Year, the most colorful and joyous of all Chinese festivals during Lan Su's two-week celebration featuring lion dances, cultural performances, martial arts, calligraphy, family-friendly craft activities and much more! The celebration kicks off Friday, February 16 with "Rolling in the Wealth," a traditional good fortune and prosperity activity of rolling oranges and gold coins through Lan Su's front door. Every guest visiting on February 16 will also receive a hong bao, or traditional lucky red envelope. In celebration of the Year of the Dog, Lan Su Chinese Garden is partnering up with local non-profit animal rescues to bring you the Year of the Dog Fair on Saturday, February 17 & 24! If you plan to visit Lan Su Chinese Garden, LexiDog Boutique & Social Club will be offering free onsite pet sitting during the Year of the Dog Fair. Bring your four-legged best friend and join in the fun!
Zwickelmania
February 17 at various Portland Breweries. Zwickel is a process of testing the beer by putting a small spout in the barrel, so every year Portland celebrates by opening up breweries for special events such as brewery tours, meet the brewer, beer tastings, specials on food and more! This year there are almost 50 breweries participating in this event throughout Portland. There is a map online so you can plan your route and try to hit as many breweries as possible!
Portland Spring Home & Garden Show
February 22-25 at the Portland Expo Center. The Portland Home & Garden Show gives homeowners the opportunity to learn about the latest home and garden products and services from more than 300 local companies. Show-goers can talk with experts about how to make their ideas and dreams come to life. As a Realtor this is the perfect event to make sure I stay up to date with trends, but it is also great for anyone with an interest in home design!
