With so many people working from home right now, it seems like the perfect time to provide some inspiration on how to make your home office a place you want to spend time in instead of a space that makes you want to throw in the towel on the workday around noon! I find that when working from home I am so much more productive if I’m actually sitting at my desk with everything organized around me, rather than trying to get work done on the couch with the tv going in the background, Benny and Marshall all over me, the washing machine beeping that it is done… I’m not going to lie, a lot of my work day is spent in chaos, but working at my desk is a lot better for my overall life!

One of the key components to a functional home office is storage. I personally can’t stand clutter, so knowing that everything is in its place and not being able to see random distractions lets me focus on my work. A comfy chair is a must, but it doesn’t have to be your basic black swivel office chair! In my opinion a rug, even over carpet, helps ground the office space and pull the look together. Just add a computer and a desk and you are ready to work!
