One of the hardest rooms for me to decorate at my house has been our formal living room. To be honest I wish the space was utilized in a different way - maybe a closed off playroom or office would be more useful for our family. However, that is not in the cards at the moment (it would require some larger scale renovations), so I’m trying to make do with what we have!

I want to design a room that is welcoming, comfortable and stylish. It’s important to me that the kids feel like they can hang out in the room and the space doesn’t feel stuffy. I love the living rooms I’ve included here and am hoping I can design something similar for my formal living room!
