Rachel's Ginger Beer

I first went to Rachel's Ginger Beer a few years ago and instantly fell in love. First of all, we share a namesake, so I knew it had to be amazing. I also happen to be a huge fan of ginger beer, especially when paired with alcohol, so it was a match made in heaven.

RGB makes fantastic, strong, flavorful ginger beer using a variety of fresh ingredients. They offer some unique flavors, such as blood orange, pink guava or a current summer special of raspberry hibiscus. Purists can get a simple glass of ginger beer, or you can experiment with one of their many cocktail options. They also have slushies and other special drinks!

The Rachel's Ginger Beer in Portland is located on 36th and Hawthorne in SE Portland. The location features all of the classic flavors and cocktails, as well as growlers to take home with your favorite flavors. Inside they also have Boke Dokie, a fried chicken spin off of the popular ramen shop Boke Bowl. Boke Dokie also has tofu sandwiches, so I was in luck when it came to dinner choices! The tofu sandwich was so so good- it had a faint hint of fried hot dog, which may not sound good but for a reformed hot dog lover like me it was exactly what I wanted! David loved his fried chicken sandwich as well, and we shared some delicious fries.

I can't wait to spend more time at RGB this summer enjoying their amazing cocktails (David got a passionfruit & vanilla mule and it was AMAZING!!) and the great food. Next time I go we are planning on bringing some growlers to fill so we can have the awesome ginger beer at home too!
