To Do: August 2017
The last full month of summer is here, so take advantage of the nice weather and enjoy yourselves!
Street of Dreams
Through August 27, Happy Valley. I look forward to the Street of Dreams all year! This years show is in Happy Valley and features 5 homes, ranging in style from a family traditional to an extremely modern Japanese home, designed by the same designer who did the renovations at the Portland Japanese Garden!
Elephant Garlic Festival
August 11-13, North Plains. This free festival about 20 miles West of Portland features TONS of garlic, live music, beer and wine gardens, great food and art vendors. I've never actually been but my mom is obsessed and I'm going to make sure to see the festival this month!
Beaverton Night Market
August 12 at the Round in Beaverton. Now that I'm officially a Beaverton resident, I want to get to know my neighborhood more and explore what downtown Beaverton has to offer! I've heard this event is part Saturday Market, part street fair, with lots of music and delicious food.
Multnomah Village Vine and Dine
August 20 in Multnomah Village, Portland. Wine and food- what more could you ask for?? Spend the afternoon sampling delicious small bites paired with the best Oregon wines at this intimate event in one of the cutest neighborhoods in Portland!
Festa Italiana
August 24-26, Pioneer Courthouse Square. I love all of the festivals that Pioneer Courthouse Square puts on each year, but the Italian Festival definitely holds a special place for me. Featuring great Italian food, opera, wine, beer and dancing, you may be tempted to stay all weekend!
Hood to Coast
August 24-26, Mt. Hood to Seaside. This will be my first year doing Hood to Coast and I'm so excited! This relay involves 1,050 teams of 12 running 199 miles from Mt. Hood to Seaside Beach. Although all the teams are formed, there are still many last minute spots opening up, and of course volunteer spots! I've also heard the party at the end on Saturday is a blast!
Hawthorne Street Fair
August 27th on Hawthorne Street. If you've been following my blog for awhile you know that I love a good street fair! The Hawthorne Street fair features a kids area, live music, tons of vendors, and of course beer, wine and food!
