Read MoreAs a vegetarian, Thanksgiving isn't exactly my favorite meal. My family is a very meat and potatoes family, so besides the turkey and ham tons of the side dishes have bacon or are made with chicken stock! I usually put together a meal of a few side dishes, heavy on the rolls, but I do love the family experience and still really enjoy the holiday. If you are like me, consider volunteering to bring a side and make a hearty dish that most people can take a small portion of, but you can load your plate!

Read MoreAs a vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to go to more "traditional" date night spots. Many romantic, upscale places feature a very meat heavy menu with only one vegetarian option, if any. Although living in Portland means that many of the restaurants here offer more selection and more options for vegetarians, sometimes I want to be able to go into a restaurant and order ANYTHING off the menu, without having to make substitutions. The list below includes my favorite restaurants in Portland that are strictly vegetarian, or feature a separate vegetarian menu. These are date night spots, so some of my favorites for lunch or a more casual meal aren't included. Enjoy!
Read MoreI've always loved Portland City Grill, a fantastic restaurant 30 floors up in Downtown Portland. Their menu features classic NW cuisine with a slight Asian touch, and everything on their menu is delicious and perfectly prepared.

Read MoreGoing to plays and musicals used to be one of my favorite things to do with my family. My grandparents lived in LA, and whenever I would visit we would try to attend at least one or two shows. Some of my favorites growing up were the Lion King, Wicked and Annie. I haven't been in way too long though, so it came as an amazing surprise when my mom got us tickets for Book of Mormon for my birthday! That was this October, and I was so excited waiting for the night of the show to come January 23rd!
