Wine Tasting with Canines Uncorked
Canines Uncorked is an event put on every year by the Oregon Humane Society as a way to raise money and celebrate the wonderful wines of Oregon! This year 16 North Willamette Vineyards participated, each offering free tastings to ticket holders, as well as special events for dogs at each stop!
My friends and I had so much fun touring the vineyards, especially because we had never been to any of the locations! A lot of the wine tasting in Oregon happens in the Dundee area, which is farther south, so it was interesting to visit some new locations. My friend Alice got to bring her sweet Bernese Mountain Dog Pabst, and the adorable terrier rescue Phoebe, who she was dog-sitting for the weekend. They loved all of the great events and treats available along the way too!
Our first stop was Ardiri Winery and Vineyards, which was definitely one of my favorites! The wine was delicious and the setting was absolutely amazing. The best part is it was only a 20 minute drive from my house, so I will definitely be back! Next we went to Dion Vineyard in Cornelius, which offered a fun short walk through the grape vines. Our third stop was the gorgeous Montinore Estate, where we bought a bottle of wine to enjoy with our picnic lunch. We made quick stops at Oak Knoll Winery and Plum Hill Vineyards before wrapping things up with amazing sparkling wine at Kramer Vineyards.
Overall my three favorite stops were Ardiri Winery & Vineyards, Montinore Estate and Kramer Vineyards. I'll definitely participate in Canines Uncorked again next summer, and will be doing lots more wine tasting before then!
