One of the main reasons I fell in love with my new house was the two story living room- I'm obsessed with tall ceilings and lots of light, and our living room has both! Now that I'm living here I definitely still love the tall ceilings, but I've realized that decorating will be harder than I thought! We have one big blank wall and are still deciding on what to hang. Since the wall is so big the scale of the art has to be big too. Recently a friend suggested a gallery wall, which would be able to take up lots of space and make a big impact.
