My Favorite Places in Manzanita, Oregon
Manzanita is one of my favorite beach towns at the Oregon Coast. I didn’t grow up going there, but David’s family had a house there until 2020, so once we started dating in 2014 we went together at least 3 times a year. We loved bringing Marshall, and then Benny, and had many major life moments in Manzanita. We both said I love you the first time to each other in Manzanita, David proposed at the beach house, and we had our engagement pictures there. Vivian’s first trip was to Manzanita, and we just got home from Teddy’s first trip to Manzanita!
There are so many great shops and restaurants in Manzanita and I don’t think you can go wrong anywhere. Here are my top 10 favorite places to visit in Manzanita. I hope you can visit soon!
finnesterre
This is my favorite boutique store in Manzanita. My friends and I lovingly call it the little spoon shop because they have so many cute little spoons that you don’t need but desperately want to buy. They sell homewares, clothing, jewelry, art, and more. It absolutely isn’t a tacky souvenir shop - everything is carefully curated and super stylish and special. It also isn’t cheap, but you can tell the quality is there!
Left Coast Siesta
We absolutely love the burritos at Left Coast Siesta! This is a place that we have to go every time we are in Manzanita. The wet burritos with the green sauce are amazing, and their guacamole is simple but super tasty. Like all of the places in Manzanita the hours can be a bit limited, but this is a must go restaurant.
The Little Apple
I can’t imagine small grocery stores often make “Best of” lists, but the Little Apple Market in Manzanita definitely deserves to be on my favorite places list! This little market has a surprisingly great selection of everything you could need - all of the regular groceries most stores have, great drinks and snacks, and beach essentials like sunscreen and sand toys. The deli here is wonderful - they have made to order sandwiches, great little salads like potato salad and five bean salad, and a hot bar with prepared food. David says the clam chowder is one of his favorites!
Manzanita Coffee Co.
I will start off this recommendation by admitting that I am not picky when it comes to coffee - in fact I often drink tea instead! So, I can’t say this is the best coffee I’ve ever had because I think all coffee is pretty good! I do know that their drinks are good though, and their treats are excellent! They have fresh baked pastries like scones and coffee cake, and they also sell ice cream and breakfast items like bagel sandwiches. It is also located about a block from the beach, so this is the perfect spot to stop and get a drink from before heading out for a morning beach walk.
Manzanita Farmers Market
The Manzanita Farmers Market is open May 16-September 19 on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. The market is surprisingly big, with lots of vendors selling fresh fruit and veggies freshly baked cookies and bread, crafts, wine, and other items to take home to enjoy. They also had a few food vendors on site with prepared food, and when we recently went they even had live music!
Manzanita Sweets
This candy store in Manzanita seems to specialize in vintage and unusual candy. We always have a great time checking out the selections and seeing old favorites or fun new things to try. Their chocolates are amazing - we recently got chocolate covered seafoam, a yummy chocolate smores bar, and a chocolate peanut butter bar. They also sell unwrapped candy by the pound (think sour gummies, chocolate covered gummy bears, swedish fish… that sort of thing!). Before we had kids I loved going to Manzanita Sweets, and now it is a must stop destination!
Marzano’s Pizza Pie
Marzano’s makes great pizza that isn’t fancy but is absolutely delicious! They are a take out only restaurant and during busy times the wait can be pretty long, but don’t let that deter you from getting a pizza here when you visit Manzanita! Their ranch is also top notch.
San Dune Pub
The San Dune Pub is pretty much as “divey” as they come, but it really does live up to its tagline as “the quintessential place to be in Manzanita, Oregon”. For a dive bar style pub the food is pretty good - we love the sweet potato fries and their fish tacos are actually known to be some of the very best on the Oregon Coast! They have a great patio outside and often have live music too. One major con for us is that no minors are allowed at any time, but if you are able to sneak away it is definitely worth a visit.
The Winery at Manzanita
One of my favorite places to hang out in Manzanita is at the Winery because the atmosphere is top notch. There are communal fire pits downstairs and a fun rooftop deck that is open in the summer. Dogs and kids are welcome, and it is set up for great people watching right on the main street. They serve wine and beer as well as little snacks, like amazing popcorn. The wine tends to be a little sweet, but the atmosphere definitely makes up for it! Fun fact - David and I took our engagement photos on the beach in Manzanita and at the Winery, so it really holds a special place for us.
Yolk
If you are looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch on the Oregon Coast, Yolk is a fantastic option! The food is fresh and local and the restaurant is casual but still nice. My only wish is that they were open for dinner too!
