Read MoreI've been wanting to go to Astoria for months and months as a day trip from either Portland or Manzanita. It is only about an hour from Manzanita, and about 1.5 hours drive from Portland. Astoria is located right off the coast on the Oregon side of the Columbia River and is the cutest little town full of historic shops, restaurants, breweries and sight-seeing.

Read MoreThis past weekend David and I took a much needed trip to the countryside and had an amazing time staying at the Bali House outside of Silverton, Oregon, about 1 hour south of Portland. We are moving in together (!!!) this Friday, and with all the stresses of the move, the upcoming holidays, and lots of winter travel this year, the trip was everything we could have wanted.
