Read MoreI love visiting art museums, and I think the Portland Art Museum is particularly beautiful. Maybe I'm biased, but I love the architecture of the building, the permanent exhibitions, and the great location downtown. I always pay attention to what new exhibitions are coming and try to plan my visit for a rainy day. The Portland Art Museum also has a great little cafe, and I'm in love with the gift shop!
Read MoreLast Christmas David and I got tickets to go indoor skydiving at iFly in the Portland area. We were so excited to go and use the tickets, but for some reason we never got around to actually booking flights and going!! This past weekend was my birthday weekend and we thought that it would be the perfect time to finally go and see what iFly had to offer!
Read MorePortland is a beautiful place, and many of the most iconic images of this gorgeous city come from Downtown Portland. From the tall downtown buildings to the waterfront of the Willamette River, the downtown area is really the heart of this city. There is great shopping, food and drinks, and amazing people watching. All of the action happens downtown, so hop on the Max or the streetcar and check out the sights!
Read MoreEvery year one of my very favorite fall activities is going apple picking. I eat an apple pretty much every day, so I love stocking up on fresh, local apples while they are in season and making lots of tasty apple treats.
Read MoreTiny homes are taking over the country. It is hard to turn on the t.v. (especially my favorite HGTV) without some sort of show about building, renovating or buying a tiny home. Portland already had one tiny house hotel, but this past weekend Tiny Digs opened on NE Glisan & 28th and already has an amazing presence. The location couldn't be better, with tons of great restaurants and bars in the area and easy access to anywhere in Portland.
Read MoreTwo of my favorite things are cats and homes, so obviously a tour of cat homes (catios) is right up my alley. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the Portland Catio Tour last weekend, but one of my best friends Lauren was able to document the event and do a great blog post for me! Lauren is a fellow cat lover and my most crafty friend, so it was a perfect match. Enjoy!

Read MoreGoing to plays and musicals used to be one of my favorite things to do with my family. My grandparents lived in LA, and whenever I would visit we would try to attend at least one or two shows. Some of my favorites growing up were the Lion King, Wicked and Annie. I haven't been in way too long though, so it came as an amazing surprise when my mom got us tickets for Book of Mormon for my birthday! That was this October, and I was so excited waiting for the night of the show to come January 23rd!
Read MoreIt’s kind of sad to say, but even though I have grown up in Portland and lived here for most of my life, I have never actually gone on the OHSU tram! The tram takes riders from the South Waterfront area of Portland up to OHSU, or Oregon Health and Science University. OHSU is both a hospital and school, with different locations scattered throughout Portland, but the main building is up in the SW Hills. It employs many people, most of whom take the tram every day to get to work (there is barely any parking on the hill).
Read MorePortland loves to celebrate warm weather and the late evenings during the summer months, so the city hosts both First and Last Thursday. Last Thursday takes place on Alberta Avenue, but First Thursday happens in the Pearl District of NW Portland. 13th Avenue shuts down between Hoyt and Kearney, allowing vendors to set up various stands to sell and showcase various art, jewelry, housewares and other unique crafts.
