Street of Dreams 2017: A Photo Tour

As a Realtor & home design lover, the Street of Dreams is one of my favorite events of the year!! The 2017 Street of Dreams features 5 homes, ranging in style from an open farmhouse to a super modern Japanese style home designed by Koichiro Hirata, the same architect who recently completed the remodel of the Portland Japanese Garden and is currently working on the 2020 Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.

Portland Home Energy Audit

Starting January 1, 2018, any homeowners looking to sell their home in the city of Portland will have to first have a home energy audit and make their home energy score public. Although these audits have been available for awhile, they are just now becoming mandatory. Portland wants to increase the energy efficiency of residential properties and give buyers a more informed view of their future homes energy usage.

Astoria, Oregon

I've been wanting to go to Astoria for months and months as a day trip from either Portland or Manzanita. It is only about an hour from Manzanita, and about 1.5 hours drive from Portland. Astoria is located right off the coast on the Oregon side of the Columbia River and is the cutest little town full of historic shops, restaurants, breweries and sight-seeing.

Home Buying 101

I recently hosted a class in my community for first time homebuyers, or seasoned buyers who need a refresher in this fast changing market. Saopon Cha, owner of Cha Mortgage and one of my favorite local mortgage brokers co-hosted, and everyone in the class walked away with some great information! Neighborhoods: Goose Hollow

The Goose Hollow neighborhood in Portland sits west of downtown and just south of Burnside street. The neighborhood is more residential than some of the other neighborhoods in Portland, but is certainly not lacking in attractions, restaurants and things to do. Goose Hollow is still very walkable, with downtown being only a few blocks down the hill and NW Portland being right over Burnside.

Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo

I haven't been to the Oregon Zoo in forever, so I was so so excited to check out Zoo Lights last week. Not only are the lights beautiful, but it is fun to get bundled up with a mug of hot chocolate and explore the zoo in the evening.

Andy Warhol at the Portland Art Museum

I love visiting art museums, and I think the Portland Art Museum is particularly beautiful. Maybe I'm biased, but I love the architecture of the building, the permanent exhibitions, and the great location downtown. I always pay attention to what new exhibitions are coming and try to plan my visit for a rainy day. The Portland Art Museum also has a great little cafe, and I'm in love with the gift shop!
