Friday Five: Vegetarian Thanksgiving Dishes

As a vegetarian, Thanksgiving isn't exactly my favorite meal. My family is a very meat and potatoes family, so besides the turkey and ham tons of the side dishes have bacon or are made with chicken stock! I usually put together a meal of a few side dishes, heavy on the rolls, but I do love the family experience and still really enjoy the holiday. If you are like me, consider volunteering to bring a side and make a hearty dish that most people can take a small portion of, but you can load your plate!

Home Design Instagrams I Love

Even though you might think I would get my fill of looking at amazing homes from my career as a Realtor, I adore looking on Instagram, Twitter and various blogs for design inspiration, or just to swoon over amazing interior decorating. Below are my favorite Instagram accounts to follow, in no specific order. Give them a follow for ideas, inspiration and beautiful vibes.

Indoor Skydiving

Last Christmas David and I got tickets to go indoor skydiving at iFly in the Portland area. We were so excited to go and use the tickets, but for some reason we never got around to actually booking flights and going!! This past weekend was my birthday weekend and we thought that it would be the perfect time to finally go and see what iFly had to offer!

Friday Five: Crockpot Vegetarian Soups

One of the best feelings is walking in the house after a long day and smelling an amazing meal cooking in the crockpot. You know that your dinner is ready, it is going to be delicious, and the house smells great too. Another bonus? Leftovers for days! In the fall I practically live off soup, so if I can get my favorite meal in a quick and easy way I am all for it.

Portland Nursery Apple Festival

Based on my recent posts it is very obvious that I love eating, picking and baking with apples. Every year Portland Nursery puts on an apple tasting event, but for some reason this is the first year I have gone!! To make up for it I went both weekends of the festival to really soak in all of the amazing apple events!

Neighborhoods: Downtown Portland

From the tall downtown buildings to the waterfront of the Willamette River, the downtown area is really the heart of this city. There is great shopping, food and drinks, and amazing people watching. All of the action happens downtown, so hop on the Max or the streetcar and check out the sights!

Friday Five: Fall Fun in Portland

Here in Portland we are so so lucky to have so many fun activities to do in the fall. Our city becomes so colorful with all the leaves changing from green to yellow, orange and red. We are surrounded by farmland, which makes us a great destination to pick pumpkins, apples and taste wine. All of the below activities are on my fall bucket list (I've already done some!) and I'm dreading the day when all the leaves have fallen and winter arrives! We are in the prime time of fall, so get out there and enjoy!!

Touring Tiny Digs

Tiny homes are taking over the country. It is hard to turn on the t.v. (especially my favorite HGTV) without some sort of show about building, renovating or buying a tiny home. Portland already had one tiny house hotel, but this past weekend Tiny Digs opened on NE Glisan & 28th and already has an amazing presence. The location couldn't be better, with tons of great restaurants and bars in the area and easy access to anywhere in Portland.

Portland Catio Tour

Two of my favorite things are cats and homes, so obviously a tour of cat homes (catios) is right up my alley. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the Portland Catio Tour last weekend, but one of my best friends Lauren was able to document the event and do a great blog post for me! Lauren is a fellow cat lover and my most crafty friend, so it was a perfect match. Enjoy!
